Our History

Virtual Infusion was founded on July 16, 2004 by Christopher (a.k.a. Moparx) and WJ as a refuge away from the rampant trolling and anti-community behavior that plagued many anime communities across the Internet.

It functions under the continual belief that you don't need the most unique or visually appealing forum in order to be successful. Those things simply do not mean anything if your current or even potential members do not feel welcome and comfortable enough to stick around.

On November 18, 2004, Virtual Infusion found itself to be the permanent new home for the core members of a general anime and gaming community called Animegamer.com (originally a Love Hina community called Anihina). The administrator of Animegamer, Kamui, had decided to quietly and abruptly kill off his community and literally vanish off the Internet. His actions plunged his community into chaos.

During this time, Christopher was the co-administrator of Animegamer, and immediately went into action by trying to contact both Kamui and the various members in order to restore as much of the community as was possible.

While still a relatively small community to this day, Virtual Infusion remains a vibrant and fun community. Our community is constantly evolving and over time the community interest has shifted to encompass a growing portion of gaming and general chat.

On October 23, 2007, WJ announced that it was time for him to part ways with the community. This was due to an increasing lack of time because of his busy work schedule.

About Me:

I really got into anime and manga back in late 2001 or early 2002. Before this time, I had a slight interest in anime having seen and enjoyed Akira, Armitage III: Polymatrix, the first season of Sailor Moon, and a few other anime movies.

My journey began when I discovered a link to the scanslation of Love Hina on one of the computer hardware forums that I frequented. I was hooked on the series and began to seek out more information on it, which led to the discovery of fansubs for the Love Hina anime.

I began to frequent various anime communities that were run back then and made friends with many of their members. The rest is history.

Aside from anime, I am heavily into computers, enjoy playing video games on the various game consoles that I own, and chatting on IRC. I am also an GNU/Linux and Open Source advocate.

My goal for this community is have a friendly environment that helps instill interest and openly embraces the next generation of anime and manga lovers.

About Me:

As a relatively younger mod, my experience with anime is not as long lived as other moderators (past and present), but don’t let the age fool you; I’ve still got my highlights.

Anime started for me at an early age, back in the mid to late 90's. Always taking a fancy to animations and cartoons, my first ventures into Anime were of those found on local tv stations. In particular, the ones that stood out the most were Gundam Wing, Escaflowne, Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Sadly, my sources were limited at the time, and anime soon passed by as a small hobby.

As the second millennia rolled in, my interest in Anime once again sprouted when shows like Inu-yasha and reruns of Gundam Wing started airing on a local network. Unlike my previous encounter however, my curiosity took the better of me and I began to search for other series to satisfy my newfound craving. After a bit of searching, I soon discovered the one manga that has brought most of this community together; Love Hina. I came upon Anihina (as most of our older members did), and started to buy the Love Hina manga while developing tastes for animes such as Trigun, Witch Hunter Robin and Ghost in the Shell. Problems arose however, and Anihina was abruptly killed off without a seconds notice.

I was now forum-less, and for about a year and a half, I continued to search for a place to post. But it seemed that very few forums could gain my interest; mainly because none of them provided that sense of a close-knit community. Nonetheless, I continued to search until one day, I stumbled across VI. I immediately recognized a few members from AG, and decided to sign up. And I’ve been posting away ever since!

Aside from that, I also have a couple non-anime related hobbies. They include gaming, music and the applied arts (both traditional and digital).

About Me:

A long long time ago, in a living room three miles from where I live... I saw my first anime series, Sailor Moon, and I didn't even know it was called anime, I just thought it was a really cool cartoon. So I would get up a little before 6:00 in the morning just so I could watch it before I went to school.

Years later, while I was staying at my aunt's house, I was watching Dragon Ball Z and I was hooked again. Which was a bad idea because I never had cable or satalite tv growing up. I only got to see it at other people's homes.

After I moved out of my parents house, I was able to watch Adult Swim on Cartoon network, and my love for anime came back. The first series I got into was Inuyasha. I was able to get most of the series subbed by a friend. Then I just ended up buying most of it. Along with Inuyasha, I got Azumanga Diaoh and Angelic Layer.

From Adult Swim, I was able to watch and enjoy Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, The Big O!, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell S.A.C, GitS S.A.C Second Gig, Trigun, Bleach, and Shin-Chan.

Other anime I have enjoyed watching; TOKKO, Angel Sanctuary (even though it was only 3 ova's and I do not fully agree with the relationship between the main character and his sister.. >.>) and at the moment Princess Tutu.

Non anime: I am a big Star Wars fan. I also like James Bond, the new Transformers movie as well as the classic cartoon from the 80's, reading, writing, drawing, baking and playing the piano when I remember to.
