Pangya

Ok, so I finally got around to downloading and installing Pangya Season 2. I never had a chance to try season 1. Being a big computer golf nut I figured I would like this. For those who don't know, it is a lot like Hot Shots Golf for the PSP, only online and multiplayer.

Any my character's name is "?AKaho". Don't ask me where the "?A" came from as I didn't put it there, Pangya did. I am working to get it fixed. Sadly, "Shinju" was taken.

There's a PC version? I thought it was only on Wii (and got renamed to the less memorable Super Swing Golf). It's an MMO?

Yes, It is first an MMO, Super Swing Golf (More popularly known in Asia as Pangya) and somehow it got ported to the Wii as Super Swing Golf. Shinju would probably like the avatar's there, especially the cash shop pirate girl me thinks (only seen someone play, its like Gunbound, only its golf, lots of math to do, especially on the holes that you can do a hole in one)

For those who are interested. I recently discovered that Pangya has US servers that are evidently licensed from the developers and renamed Albatross 18 (what a stupid name). More information about Pangya in general and where servers are hosted can be found on the Pangya page at Wikipedia.

The US version (3.24) seems to be a few versions ahead of the Singaporian/Malaysian version (3.11b) (probably because everyone know that US computer users are used to being involuntary beta testers) and offers some enhancements. The US servers are much busier (and social) than the Sing/M'lsia ones as well. Also, you don't need to jump through 3 hoops and wade through swamp water to buy A-Cash/Astras.

I now have a character on the US version named Kaho, and play on the Earth server usually. Tonight and maybe tomorrow, when on, I will be found in the Rookies subserver, but should be moving on to the Beginners subserver soon.

Oh, last note: You don't have to be in the US to play on the US version, and you can be signed up with multiple versions if you wish. I found out about the US one from some guy in Italy whom I was playing against in the Sing/M'lsia one.
