Official One Piece Manga Thread

My good friend Shindara just brought it to my attention that the manga forum lacked a One Piece thread. The quality of One Piece begs to be discussed so lets get going!

For those of you who aren't caught up, here is what is happening in the current arc.
Robin has been captured by government agents and the Straw-hat Crew is frantically trying to rescue her before she gets taken to the main government island. A massive weapon has also been called to strike the island so the Straw-hat crew has very little time left to find the key to Robin's hand-cuffs and get off the island before the weapon hits.

Latest Chapter: 414

414 showed Sanji taking on Jyabura (a wolf-creature) and Luffy's battle continuing. I have a feeling the Straw-hat Crew will win their battles but barely miss Robin. Their battle to rescue her will likely continue at a later time.

i thought it was a really good chapter, glad to see sanji back and kicking some ass, however i reckon the best fight will be with zolo, think it will be a good fight when that starts

i reckon that only one of them will end up getting to robin, and i reckon itll be luffy... im reckoning they gona save her...

Alright, time to talk about chapters 415-416.

Vote: Who thinks Sanji's 'Devil Foot' Mode is one of the coolest things they have ever seen? God Sanji was so badass the first time he brought it out. Spins around, kicks Jyabura once and sends him freaking smashing through the entire room. That was so awesome. 416 brought the fight to Zoro's end, and Zoro's fights NEVER dissapoint. I love the exchange between Zoro and his opponent at the beginning as well. "If you wear the bandanna, does your strength change". And Zoro just grins and says "Dunno". Serious badass there.

Oh snap. 420 makes things look a little grim for the Strawhat Crew.

Chapter 420:

[SPOILER]Stage one of the escape is complete now. Robin is free, so now the Strawhat Crew has to get back to their ship and get through the Navel Blockade. Nami and Luffy are farthest away at this point, but it's only Luffy who will be held back. I think they'll manage to all get to the ship, but the blockade looks something fierce.[/SPOILER]

422 is out! I love Luffy's new powers, but it makes me worry for him in the long run. Shortening his life-span to win a couple of fights is exactly Luffy's style though. Live hard and fast, with no regrets.

he wouldnt have it any other way, its good how luffy has faith in his crew to fight through things. And i also like his new fighting style although he looks well tired... i wonder how the fight will end up, luffy now has strength but as the CP9 guy said he lost his speed.

Ye animalman Sanji's devil foot is awsome, good how he uses it and im glad that he is well strong, dont want Zolo getting to much stronger then him? And even Usop is getting better, some well good shooting from the tower of justice to help Robin in one of the early chapters...

Yup, Ussop is worthless for everything except shooting, but he's starting to realize that. This is going to make him a much more useful fighter, now that he's stopped trying to be a melee fighter like Sanji, Luffy and Zolo. Ussop will be more useful sniping like he is now.

all gona boil down to the next real fight i think, its gona be against the black beard crew, I do like Zolo as the best fighter i think, something about sword fighting that i really like in manga, i think that hes the one i want to get stronger... also i like his character when Usop left the crew and everyone was sad he backed luffy up and said what a captain needs to be... ye zolo my favorite one piece character!

Chapter 425:

Good chapter. The battle between Lucci and Luffy seems to be winding down. It's turning into a real slug fest as well. I think it will come down to who has more stamina in the end.

Chapter 430:

Oh wow. How sad was this chapter. They break Robin out, but the final voyage of the 'Going Merry' was enough to break me into tears. That ship has been a part of their crew since the beginning and to see the Strawhat Crew's reaction to losing 'Merry' brought back alot of good memories. Nice montage throughout the chapter of 'Merry's' life.
