Re: Negima: Magister Negi Magi - Official Manga Thread

Oh yah baby, happy 200! :bday:
Good chapter, and well... spoilers tags to hide:
Asuna's doin' well with Setsuna it seems, and now Negi's going to get special training done with Ala Rubra (though Rubra seems to be in denial of being said person). Steady chapter, wasn't the best but I'm happy smile
Re: Negima: Magister Negi Magi - Official Manga Thread

[action=Henduluin]slaps Funk[/action]

Spoiler:
Ala Rubra isn't the guy's name; It's the name of Nagi's party. I don't think they've mentioned his name yet.
Also, winggasms ftw. Anyone wanna bet on what Akamatsu's going to come up with next?

Re: Negima: Magister Negi Magi - Official Manga Thread

No more tracing from me, the last one stirred up too much drama from various sources. Not worth the time needed to do these. Only exception I might make is if the DVD release for Spice and Wolf ep 1 is uncensored.

Anyhow, chapter 201:

Spoiler:

Yes, that seems to be his name, although nothing is official yet I think.

Anyhow, was it just me or was the pacing really off this week? I went "wait, did I just skip a page?" more than once. Akamatsu'd better not mess up the pacing now, with all the places to visit. I'm somewhat afraid he's going to rush through the entire search & rescue trip, but meh. We'll see.

Re: Negima: Magister Negi Magi - Official Manga Thread

Chapter 202

Spoiler:

His name... is Jack. Why didn't I see that one coming? He's one of the most extravagant characters in Negima, of course he'd have a simple and common name like this. *slaps akamatsu*

Anyhow, couple of interesting things revealed in this chapter:
First of all, we now know for certain Fate and Nagi's group are connected in some way. This was already speculated upon, but now it's official. Also, I would not be surprised if Fate was in fact the second boy in Ala Rubra.

Secondly, Negi hurting Rakan. Even if it was just a minor injury caused with his most powerful attack, the fact that he managed to do some damage on one of the members of Ala Rubra shows just how strong he has become. (Also, "BLARGH MY INNARDS!"

Next is the power graph. First thing I noticed is that it lists non-ki using masters from the Old World, but it doesn't mention the ones that DO use ki, like Ku Fei.
It also just shows how much Takamachi was holding back in his fight during the Mahora tournament. Which is interesting in itself. By using Takamachi as a reference, we can rather safely assume that the other Ala Rubra members are at least on Fate's level, if not higher, considering Takamachi is considered the weakest of the group (if I remember right anyway).
Still, the most interesting part must be the one name that has been conveniently ignored in this chapter but will undoubtedly show up later in the series: "Kyoumen Sakura no Kami". This guy (woman?) towers above the rest like the skyscrapers in Dubai. Who and/or what is he? The ruler of the Magic World?

And then the best part: Yue has amnesia... Looks like she ended up at a magical academy however, so she should end up many times more powerful by the time Negi gets to her.

Anyhow. I demand an RPG in the style of Final Fanatasy and/or a decent anime adaption of the current arc ASAP. I find myself falling more and more in love with the Magic World, even with the really low-quality scans.

Re: Negima: Magister Negi Magi - Official Manga Thread

Triple Post:

Chapter 203 is out, and man, Negi sure had a funny part.
The more Jack begins to teach Negi, the more I think of how stupid and ludicrous the training is becoming. I mean, making an evil face based off "dark" emotions?! Though I will admit that the faces Negi makes are quite priceless laugh. But more importantly is the focus on Yue. Well, no big explanation as to how Yue lost her memory... a  simple bump and an accidentally mind erasing spell is the cause of her amnesia. Man, how anti-climactic is that. I honestly thought something really bad happened to her! Oh well, looks like she's now training to become a magic/mage knight (too lazy to check which word is the correct one). Also, days seem to be passing by, as shown by the calender dates in the section with Yue, and it REALLY makes me wonder what's going on back in the old world. I mean, I'm still sold that there's this whole time chamber thing going on, kind of like at Evangeline's villa. Seriously, if Ken doesn't pull that trick, it'll  be REALLY hard to explain what happens when Negi comes back (with half the class of course) to Mahora, only to be questioned by a bewildered class. I bet you that's going to happen!
Re: Negima: Magister Negi Magi - Official Manga Thread

... rewrite attempt #2. Damned router.

Spoiler:
Meh, Negi'll end up with the entire class as partners eventually. Just look at all the promotional artwork Akamatsu has done over the years. A lot of these feature classmates in pactio outfits when they didn't have them yet in the manga. Also, he has done pactio cards for every one of the girls IIRC. Of course, this doesn't guarantee Akamatsu'll actually do this, but I'd say the chances are pretty damn high.

Anyway, Darth Negi is an awesome idea. Let's hope he actually turns into some kind of dark-ish anti-hero. It's doubtful, but would make for an interesting twist.
As for Yue, yes, it was kinda anti-climactic, but we basically needed an excuse so she could get stronger. Now we have one, a pretty good one at that. Only thing I'm afraid of is that it looks like Akamatsu is going to introduce even more characters in a series that's already drowning in them. I hope he doesn't overdo it.

Lastly, when the magic teacher was talking about the Old World, for a second there I thought he meant "mirror image" literally and that the world map of the Magic World was basically ours, but inverted/flipped, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
