Suffice to say, I lol'd like HELL in this chapter...But not to deviate too much, I'd like to point out how I was interested in negi's options; following the path of righteousness like his father or to seek power like Evangelion.

As well, we get a taste of what the new skill Negi may learn, whether he chooses to follow the esteemed dark path. But leave it to Akamatsu to never stay too serious about something, and as soon as Jack takes in the dark energy, he screws up and seems to have feinted in such a comical way. Anti-Climactic? Yes, but oh so funny ![/SPOILER]

Negi is too much of a goody-two-shoes to go completely dark, but as Jack pointed out, he definitely has dark-side potential.

[SPOILER] The way I see it is that Negi will go good side, but will have the classic faltering. He'll delve in the dark magic, but will end up with him choosing the righteous path. I mean, its a classic archetype; the character who falls, and redeems themselves. Sure, Negi probably won't do anything too bad when he goes all dark side, but I think he'll be revolted by it eventually... that or he'll only use the move in the most extreme cases.

And to your question: Not sure actually. Good point. I think I'll have to reread some of the older chapters just to see if we missed something. [/SPOILER]

Double post; but omg Chapter 205 finally brings back nodoka! [color="DarkRed"]"3"[/color]

[SPOILER]But before I get into the Nodoka stuff ("3"), I have to talk about Negi. Well, in this chapter, he's chosen the dark path after having been given the scroll the Eva wrote for what I'm guessing is the technique. Jack jokes about how negi likes Eva (which is to be expected, I mean c'mon; it's jack we're talking about here!), but more importantly, reassures negi that it wont be easy. With that, Negi opens the parchment, and is immediately greeted by Evangeline. Odd, especially since we know that Eva cannot leave the confines of Mahora, so I'm guessing it's like a message or a test, using an image of Eva herself in order to test people. Well, that's a guess, but it stops there and we immediately focus in on the return of Nodoka ("3"). She's joined up with a band of Treasure Hunters, using her book to obviously point out the traps surrounding the spoils they search for. She seems to be doing well, but at the end of the chapter, she takes her share of the loot and finds a ring, that apparently "sees your partner's name". As you can probably guess, she's most likely interested in seeing if Negi and her are meant to be :kawaii::blushing:.

On that note, you've probably never seen me get all yippy over a character before, but Nodoka = awesome.

Well, that was fast.

(And damn, FH's scans are much, MUCH better quality, it's crazy. Either they have some seriously talented cleaners, or a completely different raw source...)
Anyhow:

Kaede, who's probably fine on her own.
Ku, same as Kaede.
Haruna and Konoka are probably together, maybe with Anya.
Chamo, haven't seem him in a while. I thought he was with Asuna, but I don't remember seeing him.
And then there's still the cloaked character... no idea who that is.
Who is going to be next~

Oh and, Jack is absurdly awesome.

[SPOILER]Asuna, Konoka, Kaeda and Setsuna met up again
And apparently, Kaeda, Setsuna and Asuna are all capable of taking out black dragons on their own (well asuna + setsuna together together are capable, Kaeda on her own). Never knew they were that powerful o.O

On Negi's side, he seems to be trapped in a dream state subconsciously. It seems he's going to have to fight the pseudo-Eva (we were right, it was a copycat Eva left behind in the scroll). Apparently, if he cannot win, he may die or may lose his affinity to magic. Poor Negi, never gets a break! [/SPOILER]

I saw that. Not really what I was hoping for. They need to do the Mahora Martial Arts tournament, not some random chapter ;_;
Then again, the fact they're going to make an anime based on manga chapters is rather promising...
