I guess I'll move the thread from another forum... ![]()
Anyway, I'll start with Episode 17, having just finished the viewing of the raws...
SPOILER WARNING
Now it looks like the story is coming together in focus, not to mention the long-anticipated meeting between the two main characters, which will probably happen in the next episode... but there are still many questions to be answered.
After the encounter with Friday, Madlax and Vanessa are now fugitives in the wartorn country, effectively being chased by BOTH sides of the war. And the subsequent framing of the two by the Gazath-Sonika government finally pushes a foregone conclusion into action: a trip by Margaret and Elinor in search of Vanessa. And we all knew that Carossur would weasel his way into accompanying them.
The biggest impression that's left on me is yet another run-in between Madlax and Rimelda. It isn't too surprising that Rimelda would "come to the rescue" of Madlax, so that she would keep alive her obssession of killing Madlax herself. What IS surprising was the gamble that Madlax's takes in handing over the "data" to Rimelda. It could end up being a brilliant move, should Rimelda be curious enough to discover the truth for herself regarding Enfan's involvement in the war in her country. Ridding herself of the burden that comes with the data and trusting Rimelda to do the dirty work of publicizing the conspiracy, Madlax is now free to pursue the truth about her past, and somehow Vanessa seems okay with that. On top of that, Vanessa is now going to have Madlax teach her how to fight... Be afraid, be VERY afraid...
I'm quite curious to see how the rebels (particularly Nahal) will react to all this commotion, after being out of the spotlight for a couple of episodes...
Lastly, some good quotes from Madlax:
"If you fail at living, you die..." - to Vanessa after mowing down two hapless Gazath-Sonika soldiers
"You can see the truth, because you're that kind of person... or are you afraid of seeing the truth for yourself?" - before she hands the data over to Rimelda

Oooh, downloading Madlax 17 by Ayu right now, i'll edit the post once i watched it.
EDIT: Episode 17
SPOILER WARNING
Yea WJ, Madlax sure knows how to cheer up Venessa, "When people fail at life, they die."
Favourite quote in the episode, "Nope, just a natural coincidence." -Carrosur, Elinor seems to suspect that he found out they were going to Gazth-Sonika and which hotel they're staying in, so he's staying in the same one. He's probably doing it for 2 reasons, 1-to meet Madlax, 2-to watched over Margaret.

<SPOILERS>
Wow! For the first time in the series Madlax gets completely pwned... Nahal not only beats her physically with but a knife, but also plays with her usually unflappable mind, just like Friday Monday did earlier. (Just imagine what Nahal could do with a gun... she'd be frigging invincible.) Had it not been for Margaret just happening to arrive at the scene and unwittingly distracting Nahal, Madlax would've been shredded to pieces, something even she begrudgingly admits to. Looks like Madlax is going to need Margaret around just to keep Nahal off her, for Nahal appears to have some sort of a Margaret-complex... This is going to be VERY interesting now. Now that the two main characters finally have met, I look forward to a lot of clues being revealed in the eight remaining episodes.
As for Rimelda... It wasn't surprising that she did what she did, wasting her superior officer and "dumping" Carossur in more ways than one. She decides to be her own woman, refusing to be controlled by a corrupt government like a puppet. But her obsession over Madlax, wanting to kill her even though she knows she's the only "real thing..." Perhaps it's her pride that's driving her this far, so we'll see...
And while all this is going on, Vanessa wastes over two dozen boxes of live bullets just to hit a stinking can only a few feet away. She's hopeless...
And now the quote of the week... and it's not from Madlax for a change...
Carossur: "It's too bad... I wanted to feel your skin a little bit more..."
Rimelda: "Me too, Carossur. But I don't want to be controlled anymore, not by this country, not by you."

just finished ep 18 as well.
- Rimelda needs to get a life... all that obsessing over Madlax cant be too healthy.
- it was rather interesting to see how quickly someone like madlax got beat ![]()
also its interesting that madlax is told that she doesnt have the power / is different.. even though she can cross the plane of existance (done so partially a few times and completely the last time)
my guess is that its because her 'other half' was not trapped in the other plane of existance like Margaret and Carossur's apparent other selves (who represent the 'truth') where.. thus causing her to only know the so called false truth.
i believe them to be their other selves because as you watch the series you notice things like the girl turning around upon sensing something which in turn makes Margaret turn to look at the same time. also the fact that the children are shown a bunch of times before or after you see Margaret or Carossur as things unfold
it looks like madlax may be like a key of some sort to fullfill whatever is going to happen, imo
And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins,
an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found.

Madlax 18 Spoilers....
~(^_^)~
Definitly a great episode...
Revealed alot, and still left much to answer....
So Margret automaticly knew who Madlax was. Im going to say there is a big connection between them, or she remembered the Picture off of the TV. The latter sounds much cooler though ![]()
Allot of talk about the "Truth" and the "False Truth" from the little girl. Heres the entire thing....
"You are the one who does not know the truth"
"You are the one who only knows the false truth"
"The Truth Is Me"
"So, please... come quickly! Quickly"
"So you can touch the truth on this fake land."

I like this picture allot... It says a ton about his character up till this point. We can only speculate what his key role is here.

Here the two are watching the moons. If you notice, they (the moons) get closer every episode If I recall correctly... This also ties into what everyone seems to be building up to...
Lady Kuanjitta - "Nahal, the wind is about to blow."
"And it is a very pleasant wind"
"Now we just have to entrust ourselves to it"
Nahal - "The time has come to do our job"
And later while talking to Madlax...
Nahal - "The time is about to come, but you are a being that is on the outside."
One last thing....

The boy's shadow cast by the overlapping moons seems to be split in two, they are not symetrical, and that might mean he represents two characters, maybe even three? Only time will tell.

Madlax 18, spoiler warning
I was sorta annoyed to see Madlax lose, but it had to happen eventually. W00t, finally Vanessa and Margaret will be reunited, ![]()
I wonder though, i don't remember whether Margaret took Secondary with her to Gatzh-Sonika, if she did, we will finally find out what will happen once madlax touches the book. Can't wait for next episode, and for some more ass kicking.

Hmm. I was thinking there's two shadows because there were double moons (red and blue) actually. o.o
It's a good episode, all in all - as per what WJ had said...and I'm looking forward to more. ![]()

The two moons are also Symbolic, each representing one of the two childrens colors.... Red and Blue.
The little girl might be a Static character, but the boy seems to have a little more to him than it seems.
